MarketReady for Black Economic Empowerment

How do you support Black entrepreneurs?

"MarketReady supports Black entrepreneurs by facilitating connections with mentors, peer-to-peer support, funding opportunities, and technical assistance. We build a network of businesses owned by people of color, women, non-English speakers, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ communities. We have grant funds available for businesses that participate in the MarketReady program. We are open to feedback, listening for ways that MarketReady can adjust our programs to better serve Black entrepreneurs."

What does it mean to be ResourceFULL?

"To have abundance. To have the connections, ideas, funding you need to develop your business at your fingertips and know that those relationships are in it for the long haul. To feel supported by a community that sees and honors your gifts."

Why is Black Economic Empowerment Important?

"Economic empowerment flows from the strength of the Black community: the ideas, passion, and skills of Black community members. Non-Black allies can support, but must listen. Madison has work to do to heal racial divisions. Black economic empowerment can be a part of this process." ~ Ian Aley, MarketReady Program

The MarketReady Program is an initiative sponsored by the City of Madison and administered by the Northside Planning Council as part of the Madison Public Market. MarketReady is focused on providing training, supportive services and micro-grants for entrepreneurs interested in becoming Madison Public Market vendors.

MarketReady shares their resources with attendees at the ResourceFULL Black event October 25th.
